It is with heavy hearts that we must inform you of a deeply distressing and alarming incident that has recently transpired. In the beginning of April, our office, dedicated to serving the LGBTQ+ youth community and allies, was the target of a violent and hate-fueled attack.
During the April incident, a group of individuals with homophobic beliefs launched an assault on our premises, firing shots at our window and causing extensive damage. This brazen act of aggression not only poses a threat to our organisation but also jeopardises the safety and well-being of our staff, volunteers, and the entire LGBTQ+ community we serve.
We condemn this despicable act of violence in the strongest possible terms. Such hateful actions have no place in our society and stand in direct opposition to the values of inclusivity, acceptance, and equality that we steadfastly uphold. We will not be intimidated or deterred from our mission to provide support, resources, and advocacy for LGBTQ+ youth.
We are trying to actively collaborate with law enforcement authorities to ensure that those responsible for this heinous attack are swiftly brought to justice. Additionally, we are implementing heightened security measures to safeguard our premises and the individuals who access our services. We have connected to our supporters to improve our security.
In this moment of adversity, we call upon our community to stand together in solidarity and resilience. Your unwavering support is more crucial than ever as we navigate through this challenging time. We remain committed to our mission and will continue to provide essential services and support to LGBTQ+ youth.
