February 29th was a significant day as the “DiverCity” NGO hosted an exciting event to showcase the latest project, “Raising LGBTQ+ people’s visibility within society” aiming at raising awareness about LGBTQ+ people within the Armenian society and promoting the organisation’s visibility at local and international levels.
The project includes a series of eight articles covering important topics such as homophobia, discrimination, LGBTQ+ suicide cases, sex education, etc. These articles aim to shed light on pressing societal issues and spark conversations about challenges faced by LGBTQ+ individuals. You can access these enlightening articles on the website. Along with the articles, eight illustrations were also demonstrated conveying the main message of each article.
Adding to the event’s significance, the “Parents for Equality” NGO introduced their new media materials which aim to empower parents. They brought ten illustrations, a video discussing the importance of parental involvement in a child’s life as well as a comprehensive guide designed to help parents navigate the complexities of parenthood with empathy and sensitivity.
Overall, the atmosphere was buzzing with energy and enthusiasm, and it was a reminder of the importance of community and collaboration in creating a more inclusive and understanding world.
“DiverCity” NGO implements the project, “Raising LGBTQ+ people’s visibility within society” with the financial aid of “COC Nederland” Human Rights Organization.
It should be reminded that DCNGO was established in 2019, which aims to promote the development and recognition of cultural diversity in Armenia through human rights, social, educational, and information activities.
