“DiverCity” Social-Cultural, Human Rights Defender NGO  within the framework of the “Reissuing Equality” project held 2 closed film viewing meetings, the first of which took place in Friendly Yerevan Drop-in center, and the second in Pink NGO’s community center.

The Project funding was provided by the “New Generation” Humanitarian NGO under the “Awareness-Empowerment for Equality” Project, which is funded by the US Department of State’s Public Relations Office.

The short film “Reissuing Equality ” presents how GBTQ + people are discriminated against and how their rights are violated in military commissariats, in mental health hospitals. The film is about GBTQ + people (gay, bisexual, trans, queer), in which 5 GBTQ + people tell about their experience in commissariats.

– I was treated as a soldier at the military commissariat. “I felt that my rights and freedoms were limited there,” said one of the heroes.

The other individual says that at the mental health center he was asked questions about his family, personal and even sexual life – I was depressed and did not want to answer those questions, he says.

After watching the film, the participants were introduced to the conscripts, the rights, and the responsibilities of the bodies organizing the conscription, after which a discussion took place in the form of questions and answers.
