“DiverCity” Social-Cultural Human Rights Defender NGO, in partnership with the PlanetRomeo Foundation, has successfully implemented the “Youth Workers for the Future” project.

The total budget for the project was 5760 euros.
Project Implementation Dates
The project was implemented in 4 months, from March to June.
Project Purpose
The aim was to empower young LGBTQ+ individuals by providing them with necessary skills and knowledge to become enthusiastic leaders and advocates. The program focused on youth work, the digital landscape of social media platforms, Erasmus+ youth exchanges, and other youth opportunities.
Project Activities and Outcomes
The project consisted of two main parts:
1․ 8-day seminars to equip the young participants with necessary skills on leadership, and
2․ small activities conducted by them. Our leaders initiated various activities, among which were:
1․ Four Podcasts: Participants created and shared podcasts the following podcasts,
- The Experience of the Russian Trans Gay Person
- A Mother’s Journey of Acceptance
- Bisexuality | Personal story
- Armenia and Sri Lanka | Adam’s experience in Srl Lanka
2․ Four Informative Reels: Short videos providing valuable information and insights on the topics of
- Discrimination,
- Corruption,
- Bullying and
- Human rights.
3. Two Photo Campaigns:
- One of the campaigns the campaigns raising discrimination cases of LGBTQ+ issues,
- the other promoting body positive mindset among LGBTQ+ people.
4. Human Story:
- A powerful narrative highlighting the personal experiences and challenges faced by a trans activist.
5. LGBT-Friendly Places Map:
- A resource map of safe spaces for the LGBTQ+ community (This is not publicized for the safety reasons).
6. Pride Collage:
- A collaborative artwork celebrating diversity and inclusivity and depicting tragic homophobia against the LGBTQ+ community.
Besides these activities, our team created a comprehensive module for working with young LGBTQ+ people, training them on leadership, youth work and advocacy.
Additional information
The energy and enthusiasm of the 20 young participants were contagious throughout the training course. They actively engaged in fruitful discussions, formed new connections, and gained invaluable insights. At the closing events of each part of the leadership training course, each participant received a certificate of completion, marking their dedication and progress.
